The 2025 season for the Timberland Wolves boys soccer team was one full of promise and growth, even if the final results did not fully reflect the hard work and talent on display. As someone who followed the team closely, I saw firsthand how the Wolves battled through challenges, developed key players, and showed flashes of brilliance that hint at a bright future. This post takes a deep look at their season, highlighting standout performances, team dynamics, and what lies ahead.

A Season Marked by Determination

From the first whistle, the Timberland Wolves demonstrated a commitment to improvement and teamwork. Their overall record may not have been what fans hoped for, but the Wolves played with heart and resilience. The team’s goalie situation, for example, showed a mix of experience and fresh talent that kept them competitive in many matches.

Goalkeeping Strengths and Challenges

Jackson Blair was the backbone of the Wolves’ defense, logging 1,695 minutes in goal with 10 wins and 13 losses. His save percentage of .815 and goals-against average (GAA) of 2.17 reflect a goalie who faced a lot of pressure but managed to keep the Wolves in games. Blair also recorded five shutouts, split evenly between solo and shared efforts, showing his ability to rise to the occasion.

Cohen Anderson and Greyson Ratcliff saw limited action but contributed when called upon. Anderson played 71 minutes with a respectable save percentage of .818, while Ratcliff maintained a perfect 1.000 save rate in his 40 minutes on the field. These backups provided valuable depth and experience for the Wolves’ goalie rotation.

Offensive Highlights: Key Players Who Made a Difference

The Wolves’ offense was led by a few standout players who consistently created scoring opportunities and found the back of the net. Their ability to generate points was a bright spot in the season.

Landon Mann’s Dominance

Landon Mann was the team’s leading scorer by a wide margin, with 46 points coming from 13 goals and 18 assists. His five game-winning goals underscore his knack for delivering in clutch moments. Mann’s vision and finishing ability made him a constant threat and a player opponents had to plan around.

Karson Maull’s Consistent Production

Karson Maull also made a significant impact with 36 points, including 10 goals and 16 assists. His three game-winning goals helped the Wolves secure important victories. Maull’s combination of scoring and playmaking added balance to the Wolves’ attack.

Supporting Cast Contributions

Several other players contributed valuable points and assists, including:

  • Haven Chung: 9 points with 1 goal and 5 assists

  • Bryson Dick: 9 points with 3 goals and 4 assists

  • Noah Thomas: 15 points with 3 goals and 6 assists

  • Shane Smith: 13 points with 9 assists

This depth in scoring options gave the Wolves multiple ways to challenge defenses and create chances.

Team Dynamics and Growth

Beyond individual stats, the Wolves showed growth in their teamwork and understanding of the game. The midfielders and defenders worked hard to support both ends of the field. Players like Jackson Hannah, who tallied 15 assists, demonstrated strong playmaking skills that helped transition the ball from defense to offense.

The Wolves also showed discipline and sportsmanship, with no red cards recorded and very few fouls committed. This focus on clean play helped maintain team cohesion and kept the Wolves competitive in tight matches.

Lessons Learned and Areas to Improve

While the Wolves showed promise, the season also revealed areas needing improvement. The team’s overall winning percentage hovered around .435, indicating that consistency was a challenge. Defensive lapses and occasional missed opportunities in front of goal cost the Wolves valuable points.

Improving defensive coordination and finishing efficiency will be key for the Wolves as they prepare for future seasons. Developing younger players and maintaining the strong work ethic seen this year will also be crucial.

Looking Ahead: Building on a Solid Foundation

The 2025 season may have ended with mixed results, but the Timberland Wolves have laid a solid foundation for the future. With leaders like Landon Mann and Karson Maull returning, and promising talent in the goalie position, the Wolves have the pieces to become a more dominant force.

The coaching staff’s focus on growth and teamwork will continue to shape the team’s identity. Fans can expect the Wolves to build on this season’s lessons and push harder for success in 2026.
