Coming off an impressive 2024 season, the Ladue boys' soccer team had a lot to prove after winning the Class 3 State Championship under Coach Aronberg. Ladue decided to take a step further and make the transition to Class 4.

Season Rundown:

Ladue opened their campaign with a strong stretch that immediately put opponents on notice. They went unbeaten through the early weeks, defeating tough squads and showcasing balance on both sides of the ball. Their early form earned them high regional rankings and respect across the metro.

One highlight came when Ladue earned a signature win over Clayton, capturing the Inner-Belt Derby title. In that match, junior Jose Sanchez delivered a stunning 25-yard free kick winner, underscoring his elite attacking ability. Sanchez led the Rams offensively throughout the season with 15 goals and 7 assists, consistently impacting games in big moments.

Despite a few narrow defeats against top Class 4 rivals — including a tight 2-1 loss to SLUH in the District 2 Final — the Rams’ consistency and competitive grit were undeniable. They finished first in district play, reflecting dominance in regular-season matchups and benefiting from depth and tactical discipline.

Team Leaders & Statistical Standouts

Goal Scoring and Playmaking

Jose Sanchez (Junior – M/F): Ladue’s most dangerous attacking weapon, leading the team with 15 goals and 7 assists. Sanchez proved to be a complete offensive threat, scoring from open play and set pieces while also creating chances for teammates with vision and technical quality.

His production and leadership earned him All-Metro Second Team honors, cementing his status as one of the top attacking midfielders in the St. Louis area.

A Defense That Set the Tone

Even with the step up to Class 4, Ladue’s defense remained organized and resilient throughout the season. The Rams consistently limited high-quality chances and recorded multiple shutouts, relying on disciplined positioning and strong communication in the back.

In rivalry matches and high-pressure contests, Ladue’s defensive structure played a major role in keeping games within reach and protecting narrow leads.

Recognition & All-Metro Honors

Ladue’s success extended beyond the team record, with individual accolades highlighting the Rams’ impact across the metro:

Looking Ahead

Although Ladue’s postseason run ended sooner than hoped, their first season in Class 4 made one thing clear: the program belongs among the area’s elite. The Rams competed every night, handled a tougher schedule, and maintained the winning culture that has defined Ladue soccer.

With key contributors returning and valuable experience gained at a higher level, Ladue enters the future positioned for continued success.

The stage got bigger — but the standard never changed.
